"The Other Boleyn Girl"

Well, my book group headed to the movie to see the "Other Boleyn Girl". Being a historical fiction buff, I recommended this book and the movie was bloody, but good. Covering 700 some pages in 1.5 hours was a challenge and a few details were left out..like Mary had a girl baby first and a son second....not just a son.
Also my group thought that Natalie Portman was not evil enough as "Anne". This movie is worth seeing if you read the book and like history. Thought you would find below amusing:

I actually haven't seen this because I love the Tudor period, read the book and was told don't bother. Maybe I'll rethink it...or wait 'til payperview...I watch the Tudors on Showtime which is the worst history lesson...

I just finished reading the book and it was really good. I was so excited when I got to the climax at the end. I also watch The Tudors, mostly because I'm a big fan of Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I heard mixed things about the movie, but maybe I'll go see it so I can compare it to the book.

I call that book Historical Smut, but I did love it! Two of my book club pals and I are going to see it tonight. I've heard not so great things about it but Eric Bana is enough reason for me!

I love this period in history. What is that great movie about Ann Bolyn & King Henry that stars Genevieve Bujold & Richard Burton? I always LOVED that movie! I remember on my trip to London I went into the little church (or whatever) that Ann Boleyn is buried...it gave me goosebumps.

Okay, the title just came to me...."Anne Of The Thousand Days"...I think.

Also "Young Bess"....a really old movie. Another great one.

I hope I can get to this movie befoe it leaves the theatre. I read the book, although not usually my interest, and really enjoyed it.

I trying to finish the book before the movie leaves the theater...I guess it will come out soon enough on DVD. I love this period and love reading & watching shows about it. Do you watch the Tudors on Showtime? So good!
