IT IS GOING TO BE A LONG SCHOOL YEAR

When you visit the pool snack shack at our country club, instead of cash, you give them your member number. My children use the snack shack everyday in the summer and are always sneaking in extra treats. The use of the number is always a problem in the summer.

This number's life seems to be carrying into the fall. My son just gave our member number as part of our address 2443 Berkshire Road. Our address is 809. He also swears that is our address. There are so many problems on mulitple levels here. Thought this picture was too funny!

Oh yea, I remember those days! Growing up I swam for the Yacht Club and spent my summers swimming for the swim team. Instead of going home, we would stay down on the island from 6am until the evening! It was great, charged away - charged lunch, dinner, you name it! Oh, those were the good old days!! HA!HA!

That is so cute. I am nodding in agreement because you are spot on about the "number" becoming part of one's summer identity. Ours will continue to be part of our daily lives during the school year. We just got one of our kids a phone and the last four digits are, coincidentally, our member number.

My kids were also brought up on the member number at the country club. One time our youngest was at the grocery store with my husband and put his candy bar in front of the cashier and simply stated our (account) number. The clerk wasn't too sure what to do, but fortunately my husband picked up on it immediately and took over the situation. We still chuckle over that one.

When I was young I thought that system of just going up and getting anything you wanted at the country club snackbar was awesome! No money needed. I loved it! ha ha...
