2. Confirmation for Girls:
Swaroski Crystal on a wire that actually lights up. Elegant and fun. I usually add a note: "May you always find your way" Thanks BK for the idea.
3. Graduation Gift: Chanel Perfume-Start them off on the right foot. One of the few High School graduation gifts I received and remembered.
Last year, I gave a young man a Vineyard Vine belt with tennis racquets ( he was playing tennis in college). I knew that he would appreciate it, but not all young men would wear this type of gift. Please share your thoughts with me about a great graduation gift for boys.

a cool key chain?
I think that if the boys are going to college, towels with their initials are always nice- and practical. That's what my mom gives the guys she teaches. And you can always use a towel!
Girls are much easier than guys to buy for when it comes to graduation gifts. All of my guy friends say the best thing they got was money, but I always like to give something more personal!
Land's End duffles with their monogram or monogrammed towels are, I think, the best gifts for boys. One of my favorite gifts was a laundry basket filled with towels, tide, downey, a stain stick, fels naptha soap, etc. I don't know that a boy would use all that though!
Try gifts.com. They have gifts suggestions for all different occasions/ages, etc. You can even select the recipient's personality type - e.g. teenage boy who's athletic, etc.
A collection of giftcards to their favorite fast food restaurants. It sounds silly, but it's such a treat for a poor college kid to get to break away from dorm food now and again!
I know it might sound gauche, but my sons appreciated cold, hard cash! I like to give a check and a little something. If it is a close relative then I go for something memorable- usually involving St. Christopher, ( st. chris money clip, medalion)
IMHO, it only gets tougher when they get older. For college graduation, I wanted to get something nice for my boyfriend and my close (guy) friends, and it was so hard!
I ended up getting one young man an antique book of Lincoln's speeches (he wrote on Lincoln for his senior thesis). I think monogrammed stationary is nice--something a guy will probably have to use at some point or another (interview thank-you notes?), and it'd be nice for him to have, instead of stealing from his mother/girlfriend!
I'd love it if you posted some of the top suggestions you've received, b/c I think this is a issue a lot of us will be dealing with this season!
personalized tervis tumblers are my go to grad gift for guys. the other one are a couple of the personalized ralph lauren polos
Smathers & Branson has great needlepoint belts and flasks. xoxo
That's a toughy as my own is graduating but we will get him luggage and a laptop. For the guy friends we will probably do cash (I know not special-special)but guys love it and at this age I find they want nothing else. I do fold it origami style into a shirt and stick it into the card and say to buy a college shirt on me. They all think they are taking the road trip this summer with the gang. NOT! :)
I love this store..Southern Proper.com Great stuff for men!! xxxx me
I like the idea of a giftcard too, if possible, one to the college bookstore would be great - they can use it towards practical things like textbooks or fun things like college sweatshirts and water bottles.
I have been trying to figure this out myself! So glad you posted about it. I just went the cash way for my nephew graduating from college because everyone told me that's all they want! Love your other gift ideas! How about a gift for a girls 21st bday?
