This is the pace in which I will be going to our isolated land in the north to hide during the revolution. (Lope: a pace between a trot and gallop)
"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. " — Margaret Thatcher
SAVE THE PRIVATE SECTOR
When did those in the private sector become the enemy--those who give us jobs, pay huge corporate income taxes, feed our families, etc? Anyone or a family making over $200,000 will soon to be in trouble, so watch out. Just remember, as evil as the AIG executives are made to be by the press, remember, your elected officials gave them this money, unconditionally and did not properly oversee it. Who is really evil here? Why was AIG given our money in the first place? These AIG employees, like you and me, who happen to work for the wrong company, are receiving death threats and made out to be criminals. Why is our President doing this to his citizens?
REVOLUTION BREWING?
The outrage in the masses looks like the French Revolution--are these executives soon to be walked to the guillotine? --or in modern times, fed to the press? When will this outrage be directed toward the government? Why isn't anyone standing in front of Senator Dodd's house with torches? You wonder why? Your government redirected your anger to the AIG executives and even my beloved Fox News is following the party line. Where are the business people--get some business degrees and run a few companies FOX NEWS!
A least the Guillotine can be Preppy!
NO REWARD TO WORK HARD OR FOR YOUR TALENTS
Next, if you are receiving a bail out, there will no more bonuses--so if you save your company $10,000,000, you will get chocolates , flowers or a nice pat on the back. The talented people will go the industries in which the government isn't involved. So, say good bye to banks, auto companies, etc. Just look at the Post Office, Sec. State Offices, etc. The government cannot do anything right.
YOU WILL BE NEXT!
Just remember, next it will be Drs., Lawyers, or anyone who makes money from the government (Medicare/Medicaid) will not make over $200,000.
P.S. Just remember, several public University Presidents make over $1,000,000 and tuition goes up 10% a year--now that is criminal!
ME JUST RANTING.. A LITTLE MORE
When corporate executives, who did nothing illegal, have to be protected by police because of the President of the United States is attempting to be the Czar of Outrage(in addition to the Czar of Health Care, Czar of Energy, etc), we have a problem. The words ...HOPE, COPE, DOPE, POPE, NOPE are not longer effective. Just a big....HELP!
THIS IS CLASS WARFARE--- HAVE A PLACE TO HIDE

Bravo! I share your outrage at the outrage. Doesn't our Federal Government have enough on their hands without dipping into the private sector? I mean there is a blurred line now that they have 'decided' to bail out all these companies but was that done to shore up our economy or to grease the slippery slope toward Socialism? I know I have my opinion about it. . .
Great post! You have Muffys support!
i completely understand that everyone is entitled to their opinions but one of the reasons our country is in this mess is because of how these companies, like AIG, handled their business. When they are being given tax payer money i do not see how it can be justified to give over the top bonuses to the very employees that got them into this mess. if they were not being given multiple bail outs that is one thing, then do what you want with your money. however under the current circumstances the idea of giving bonuses like this is ridiculous.
I agree with you Bren, I just do not think the gov. should have given AIG one penny. I think companies will just pay exec. more and the bonuses will be called incentives. If a rention bonus paid to hr. workers, of $10,000--how would you feel?
In answer to your question, yes.
This is a great post! I share your thoughts and feelings. Many people forget we are all next in line!!
Great Post!!!
I get your outrage. I think it's a little misguided at the president, but I get it just the same.
My husband's salary is highly bonus structured, so when I hear someone getting a $50k bonus, I don't flinch like some people. Many salaries are built that way. And I totally agree with you about Senator Dodd - I would bet he will not be reelected in 2010. But do you honestly think the people in the very department who lost all of AIG's money should be given bonuses? I think Obama's outrage should be geared to his own treasury secretary and the gov't - not the company itself.
Was socialism OK in December when Bush OK'd it? Or is it only wrong when a democrat is in office? And how republicans and fiscal conservatives (not always one and the same, mind you) justify socialism when it's bailing out banks but not when it's bailing out everyday people is beyond my comprehension. Trickle-down economics doesn't really work, even if everyone at Fox News insists it does.
The democrats in congress today make my skin crawl - they have done nothing good to help this situation. But when I read this type of rhetoric I wonder where the outrage was for the 6 years prior when 2 of the 3 branches of gov't were run by the so-called 'fiscally conservative' party.
I do like the pink guillotine! ;-) Provoking post.
MomX2--socialism is wrong on both accounts! Bush had the biggest spending increase ever by offering presc. Drugs to seniors--
Amen just Amen.
Fabulous post!! Thank you.
blame Chris Dodd.
great post!
Isn't it completely frustrating???!
I say let bad companies go out of business, regardless of their size. I choose to believe that stronger companies will take their place and I for one think Americans are talented and strong. If you are angry at the AIG mess, I think you haven't seen the worst of the bailouts.
I wish we had this type of debate over here - our Government has RUINED the country - we are bankrupt. They make me so mad! They are bailing everyone out left right and centre and interfere in every walk of life. Nearly 50% of my salary goes on tax and still our public services are in meltdown and society is utterly wrecked over here. I do like President Obama but I honestly have no idea about his domestic policies - I just like his international ones (or the ones I know aboutanyway), so I read your post with interest!
"Pitiful" Pelosi, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Obama, Harry Reid, and the rest of the far-left liberals are literally changing the landscape of this country. They are out-of-control.
I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Every day it's something new.
Now I have to worry about the missile N.Korea is about to launch.
I am so outraged.
Never have I been so angry as when those freaks treated Edward Liddy like a piece of garbage in regards to the AIG bonuses that were legally put in place long before he decided to come out of retirement and work for $1.00 a year to help with AIG.
I could not believe they were using him as their scapegoat, grandstanding and all, when they (democrats) were the ones who wrote the bill, passed the bill, and signed the bill. Knowing full well that the bonuses were written into said bill.
Tax cheat Tim knew, they all knew.
I support you 100%. Great post.
My fear is it's only going to get worse.
I couldnt agree more Pink Preppy Party Girl!! :)
