I'LL SHOW YOU MINE IF YOU SHOW ME YOURS--CHINA THAT IS!

Ok, I am a little obsessed with china and porcelain. While some have wish lists of purses, shoes and clothing, I am looking for Antique Pots De Creme for 12 or Oyster Plates in white and gold, or Demitasse cups in french blue and this is just my china list...I have a long list of sterling silver items too.
My inventory....when I as married a 15 years ago, I registered for Spode Sheffield with Stafford Flowers salad plates. I purchased Sheffield as my primary set and Wedgewood White for more casual dinners. Since a former president's wife registered for Stafford Flowers when she left office,(Tickled Pink and Green knows who I am talking about) I have never felt the same about this pattern. To spice things up, I have purchased several salad plate options including a Limoges fish set, Lynn Chase Winter Game Birds in Chestnut and Spode Lancaster in Crimson for Christmas. I also also collect Limoges, Paris Porcelain and Bavaria white (my great grandmother's pattern) all in white and gold trim. I strive to find antique Limoges with a Monogram A. I have several Herend pieces too. Love it!
Please let me know your pattern...it says so much about someone and the time period in which they were married.

The china I have is Lenox Hannah Platinum. I have some Christmas Tree Spode for the holidays. I also have some plates that I bought at Crate.

I love all of these! Hannah Platinum is so elegant. Spode Christmas Tree is also a favorite. Love the Varages pattern. Have a few pieces like this from Aix en Provence. Wish I had more--never could make up my mind on which pattern I liked the best. I have a simple green and white bistro set for daily use. Also, the Olde Avesbury is beautiful..wouldn't mind a set of this too.

Gorgeous! We have Wedgwood Strawberries & Vines (all white) and the Christmas Tree Spode. We also have every-day dishess that (I thin?) we bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Forgot! I also have my grandmother's china & crystal in storage...I want to have it appraised so we are not using it right now.

I have Lenox Jefferson, which has since been discontinued! I love it!
I had registered for a Wedgewood pattern, can't even remember the pattern, and about a week before my wedding found something at a little specialty shoppe that I LOVED, so I took all the Wedgewood back and went and bought the Vietri!
I also have my grandmother's, it was made by Taylor Smith.

Is it Hillary Clinton's taste that so offends you?

Mine is my grandmother's china - it's Noritake Marseille. However, I filled in with some Hannah Platinum by Lenox as well. My Waterford crystal is Wynnwood.

You all such beautiful choices! PM, you are correct on Hillary. I just think it is strange for the former president's wife to register for china at the age of 50.

Mine is Haviland- White with Platinum. My Grandmother gave me her set for a wedding present. I love it and I thing all the scratches and imperfections lend a sense of history to the whole thing.

I love china and all that stuff too. I posted my selections a few months ago - and you'd like my Christmas china. It's tartan plaids and I hauled it back from a trip to London about 14 years ago. Other tartan pieces I get from Ralph Lauren and I mix it up. BTW, I've been married 15 years too!

I just spent a bit of time before getting ready for a gig tonight and wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed reading about your adventures.
My cupboards are full of sets of dishes but I don't have a specific china pattern. Most of my dishes are old but I noticed that you are a fan of the Southern Bell Primer book, loved that book, must pick up another one since mine is missing.
My silver pattern is Francis I~
I'm adding you to my favorites so I will be back.

I just stumbled onto your blog! I am the same way about china, silver, and crystal. I am getting married in August but have been looking at these things since I was about 16! We are registered for Faberge Cheverny Blue as our formal china and a mix of Spode's Delamere and their Woodlands for our more casual dishes!
I love your china!
