BRING BACK THOSE GLOVES BECAUSE I NEED A MANICURE!
I am just looking at my fingernails and realized that, I am desperately in need of a professional manicure. Wouldn't be nice to bring back those 1957 white gloves for days like these..when you would like to hide your hands.
I love my new nail salon. I took my 93 year old grandmother there last week of a winter pick-me-up. The deluxe manicure treatment including a salt rub, hot paraffin wax, hot stone massage and the other typical filing, polishing, etc. I had a basic treatment with clear polish because nail polish remover seems to evaporate in my home ....yes, because it is always left opened, it evaporates, so any nail color is out for me . This is what happens when you have a pre-teen and teenage daughters.
Even though I have never smoked, a nice pair of white gloves and a smoke would have made my day (I guess the car and earrings would have been great too).

I am right there with you...this time of year is rough on the manicure, especially since I'm slathering on the antibacterial hand gel all the time!
YAY! I found another Michigan blogger.
Yes I also need a manicure and maybe a pedicure.
I'd love a manicure, but I spend too much time with a one and two yr old that they'd be a mess in less than a day.
OMG! I love your blog! You are hilarious. Yes bring back the white gloves. I'm all for it! Do they have them for feet too? I need a pedicure asap!!!!
Such an elegant photo. I completely agree, they should definitely bring gloves back. When I get married someday (wishful thinking), I want to wear long white gloves.
I love, love, love that photo (sans cig. of course!). My manicurist has become what I consider a "professional requirment" and I would probably have a heart attack if I fell out of her regular line up since I had to wait weeks to get in with her in the 1st place...it is the little things, eh?
I never get manicures because I pick at my cuticles and peel off my fingernails, so the manicure wouldn't last long at all. Bad habits I know. But I love my pedicures! I read somewhere about some famous woman that had really bad hands from nailbiting, etc, and that she hid them as much as possible from people. Maybe it was Jackie Kennedy? Can't remember.
